Ken and Jason Giavara, both USPTA certified instructors, have operated the Academy for almost 30 years. We have produced many top level juniors and we are dedicated to building tomorrow’s champions.

Ken Giavara
Ken Giavara has been teaching tennis in San Diego since 1998. He has developed many of the top ranked players in the section, as well as the nation. Ken loves developing any level of student and takes pride in his teaching expertise. Ken graduated from The University of Hartford with a B.A. in Communications. He was the number one tennis player at the school and still has the record for all-time highest winning percentage. Ken also played Division One basketball at Northeastern University. The team was ranked in the top twenty in the nation and played in the March Madness tournament twice. Ken is one of the few athletes to have won two Division One conference titles at two different sports….email Ken
Jason Giavara
Jason was recently named Player of the Decade in the Big South Conference for the 1990s. In addition, Jason Giavara was the San Diego male player of the year in 2005. He has been teaching tennis in San Diego since 2001. Jason has wins over Sam Querry and many other top professionals. He was the number one player at the University of Coastal Carolina. Jason was named All-Conference three years in a row, and Conference Player of the Year his senior year. After college Jason played on the professional circuit, where he was ranked #850 in the world. A complete fitness routine, utilizing a state-of-the-art gym/workout room, and nutritional training are integrated into the regime for each individual student. Emotional and mental training are also part of the core skills we develop in each player to ensure they achieve their maximum potential.
The Giavara Tennis Academy strongly believes in creating champions on and off the court. Education is a top priority. Students are encouraged to begin/complete homework in our designated study area. The Giavara Tennis Academy boasts a 100% collegiate scholarship acceptance rate.
